Richard, who plays Donny in Baby Reindeer, shared that the chilling story is not entirely true. As the author of the book the show is based on, Gadd mentioned in a recent interview with Variety that the story draws from real experiences. He explained, “It’s all borrowed from instances that happened to me and real people that I met.” Gadd cited “legal and artistic reasons” as the cause for not presenting the exact truth.
