Dua Lipa’s Parents Attend Her Saturday Night Live Hosting Debut; All the Details Inside
Dua Lipa’s parents, Anesa and Dukagjin, proudly watched their daughter host SNL. They were in the audience supporting her as she took on the hosting duties.
The singer’s jokes about “embarrassing” her parents were well-received, and she did a fantastic job in her Saturday Night Live debut.
Dua Lipa’s parents show their support at SNL
Dua Lipa was selected as the host for a recent episode of Saturday Night Live. During her hosting debut, she gave a special shoutout to her parents who were present in the audience.
Reflecting on her previous appearance on the show in 2018, where she made her US television debut, Dua said, “It’s great to be back at 30 Rock. I actually made my US TV debut eight years ago, downstairs on The Tonight Show.” She expressed how being on SNL felt like being at home.
Dua acknowledged her parents’ presence by saying, “And especially tonight, because my parents are here in the audience.” The camera then showed Aneesa and Dukagjin beaming with pride.

Dua Lipa also jokingly mentioned how she embarrassed her parents while hosting SNL. “As you can see, they’re pretty cool,” she added. The singer revealed that her parents enjoy partying, and she once ran into them unexpectedly while out with friends.
Recalling the incident where she encountered her parents at a club at 3 am, Dua shared the awkward yet amusing situation. “Because the last thing you want to see when you’re super high and drunk is your daughter,” she quipped, to the amusement of her parents.
Despite the humorous anecdotes, Dua took a moment to express gratitude to her parents for their unwavering support. She mentioned how they allowed her to pursue her career by moving from Kosovo to London at just 15 years old, leading to the release of her third album.
In addition to hosting, Dua Lipa also performed her latest single, “Illusion,” on the show. Her album “Radical Optimism” was officially launched on May 3.
