The director of the film, Richard LaGravenese, mentioned that although they had to remove the Hot Ones segment, Efron’s performance was impressive. LaGravenese revealed that they shot a full Hot Ones episode, but unfortunately, it didn’t make it into the final cut.
Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans, is popular among celebrities during press tours. The show features well-researched questions and spicy wings, leading to celebrities opening up about their careers while struggling with the heat.

The decision to delete Zac Efron’s Hot Ones interview was due to its elaborate nature and time constraints. The director wanted to portray Efron as a global star, leading to the creation of this sequence that couldn’t fit in the final edit.
Despite being a fun and engaging shoot, the Hot Ones interview scene was too lengthy for inclusion. The director praised the experience of working with Sean Evans and the enjoyment they had during the filming process.
The film A Family Affair follows the story of Zara Ford (Joey King), an aspiring producer working for movie star Chris Cole (Efron). The plot thickens when Chris starts dating Zara’s mother, played by Nicole Kidman. The movie is now available for streaming on Netflix.
