Zac Efron’s Response to Ex Vanessa Hudgens’ New Role as a Mother
Professional Life: After starring in all three High School Musical films, Hudgens went on to appear in movies such as Bandslam, Beastly, Sucker Punch, Spring Breakers, Machete Kills, Second Act, and Bad Boys for Life.
“High School Musical was an amazing experience, but it veered me off course from my original career path,” Hudgens shared with The Guardian in an interview in August 2018. “I always aspired to be the indie girl; I always wanted to be in films where I portray characters like a drug addict, a stripper, or a prostitute. That was my ambition since I was around 11 years old.”
In 2015, Hudgens made her debut on Broadway in a revival of the musical Gigi. The next year, she returned to her musical roots by playing Rizzo in Fox’s production of Grease Live! Then, in 2019, she joined the live staging of Rent on Fox. Additionally, she starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s film adaptation of tick, tick…BOOM!, an autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the creator of Rent.
Personal Life: In 2011, a year after her split with Zac Efron, Hudgens began a relationship with actor Austin Butler. The couple parted ways in early 2020. In October 2023, she tied the knot with MLB star Cole Tucker. They are now expecting their first child.
