Paul Harrell, 58, the YouTuber, declares his passing
The YouTube community is mourning one of their own.
Paul Harrell, who gained recognition on the platform by posting firearms review videos, passed away after battling pancreatic cancer at the age of 58.
Paul made the decision to announce the news himself, and had his editor Brad Nelson upload a video to his YouTube channel on Sept. 3 titled “I’m Dead,” where he revealed that the message was recorded on Dec. 20, 2023.
“I’m recording this and giving Brad instructions to publish it upon my death,” he shared with his YouTube audience. “So, if you’re watching me, I’m dead.”
The content creator—who had disclosed his diagnosis in July 2023—acknowledged that although his pancreatic cancer was caught early by doctors, it had progressed faster than expected.
“I sincerely apologize,” he expressed. “I had hoped to continue creating content in this format for the next 10 or even 15 years. Even after my diagnosis, I anticipated a few more years, only to realize it was just a few more months. I apologize for letting everyone down.”
