Yerin Ha Cast as Sophie Beckett, Benedict’s Love Interest in Bridgerton Season 4 – Learn More Details
Following a successful season of Bridgerton with Luke Newton and Nichola Coughlan, the show is gearing up for a new love story in season 4. The upcoming season will focus on the character of Benedict Bridgerton, as previously announced by the makers of the Netflix series.
Speculations about the casting for the role opposite Luke Thompson have been put to rest as sources reveal that Yerin Ha will play the character of Sophie Beckett in the show. Season 4 will be based on Julia Quinn’s novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. However, Shondaland and Netflix have not made an official announcement about the casting yet.
According to the logline for the new season, “The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
In Quinn’s book, Beckett is portrayed as the Lady in Silver. Sophie is the illegitimate daughter of an Earl, who had her with one of his maids. Beckett has been living at her father’s residence, without his acknowledgment of her as his daughter.
Yerin Ha, known for her role in Paramount+’s series based on Halo video games, has been selected for the role in Bridgerton. She has also appeared in Australian shows like Reef Break, Bad Behavior, Troppo, and Sissy. Additionally, Ha will be featured in Dune: Prophecy, set to debut in November 2024.
Bridgerton has garnered praise from both viewers and critics over its three seasons. Jonathan Bailey confirmed his return as Anthony Bridgerton in the new season, while the previous onscreen couple’s involvement has not been disclosed yet. Season 4 is expected to premiere in 2026.
