Sophie Turner Addresses Potential Return as Sansa Stark: ‘It would have to be…’
Sophie Turner famously portrayed Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, a character who was initially disliked but grew in popularity as the series progressed. The show concluded with Sansa becoming the Queen in the North, much to the delight of fans. Turner has played the role since she was 15 and it was a meaningful journey for both her and the fans.
In an interview with Variety, Turner discussed the possibility of Sansa’s return and her affection for the character. She expressed interest in reprising the role if the original cast and crew were involved. Turner stated, “Maybe. It would have to be the exact same cast and crew otherwise, I wouldn’t go back, and that would just be Season 9.” While she dismissed hopes for another GOT season, she admitted that Sansa will always hold a special place in her heart.
Despite the high anticipation, the final season of Game of Thrones was met with disappointment due to its rushed and messy plot. The series received the lowest Rotten Tomato ratings in its history. However, some cast members defended the finale on different occasions.
For example, Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister, expressed his support for the finale in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He defended the show and shared his positive opinion on the last season. Similarly, Kristian Nairn, known for his role as Hodor, defended Daenerys’ actions in the season finale, pointing out that the signs of her tragic end were present throughout the series.
