Katie Ledecky is aiming to continue her success in the pool.
After making history as the most decorated U.S. woman in Olympic competition at the Paris 2024 games, the swimmer shared her thoughts on participating in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
“I would be thrilled to compete in 2028,” Katie, who carried the flag alongside rower Nick Mead, revealed to Jimmy Fallon and Mike Tirico during the Aug. 11 Closing Ceremony. “I believe swimming in front of a hometown crowd would be an amazing experience. I’m taking it one step at a time and giving my all every year.”
At 27 years old currently, Katie would be 31 during the Los Angeles 2028 games, giving her ample time to prepare. Currently, she is relishing her four Olympic medals from 2024—two gold, one silver, and one bronze—while enjoying an extended stay in Paris.
