The Reasons Why Vanessa Hudgens is Thankful for Breaking Up with Austin Butler
Vanessa Hudgens is pleased with the path she took.
The High School Musical star looked back on her nine-year relationship with former partner Austin Butler while explaining how her past relationships led her to her current husband Cole Tucker.
“I believe a lot of my growth came from my past breakups,” Vanessa shared on the She Pivots podcast’s episode on March 6. “My last breakup really pushed me into a very special place.”
“It guided me to the right person, for which I am extremely grateful,” she added about Cole, saying, “He is truly the most supportive, genuine, and understanding person I have ever met.”
Vanessa and Austin ended their relationship in early 2020 after nearly a decade together. Since then, both have seemingly found what they were searching for. The Elvis actor started dating model Kaia Gerber in 2022, while the Spring Breakers actress got married to Cole in Tulum, Mexico, in December.
