It has been widely known that Taylor’s presence at NFL games has sparked a lot of attention from both her fans and football fans alike. Travis’ brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, pointed out that the coverage is driven by the demand for it.
“The attention is there because the audience wants to see it,” he stated in an interview with ABC affiliate WCPO 9 in February. “I mean, if people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it. She’s a global superstar, the top artist in the world right now, a singer-songwriter with immense talent, and an incredible role model for young women worldwide.”
He went on to say, “I think it would be a mistake for the NFL not to showcase her.”
Taylor, on the other hand, has made it clear that she doesn’t mind if she’s featured too frequently on screen—she’s just there to support her partner.
“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is showing you on the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” she shared in an interview with TIME in December. “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no idea if I’m being shown too much and upsetting a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
