Suni Lee Stunned by Scoring Bronze Medal
Suni Lee is amazed by her achievement at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
At just 21 years old, she didn’t anticipate winning any medals at the women’s gymnastics all-around final in Paris.
When her floor routine score propelled her from fourth to third place on August 1st, earning her the bronze, she was shocked.
“It felt absolutely amazing. I was in shock,” Lee shared with Today on August 2nd. “I didn’t think that I was going to be able to podium.”
She went on to say, “During my floor routine, I told myself to finish strong and give it my all because just being here is already an accomplishment.”
Her teammate Simone Biles claimed the gold medal in the final, with Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade securing the silver.
“I honestly started to get a little emotional,” Lee admitted upon realizing she had won the bronze, marking her fifth Olympic medal. “I almost started tearing up. I was just so happy.”
