RHOSLC’s Heather Gay Expresses Frustration Over Struggles Amid Ozempic Weight Loss
Ozempic is no joking matter for the comedian. Handler shared that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the medication without her knowledge of what it truly was.
“I didn’t even realize I was taking it,” she revealed during the episode of Call Her Daddy on Jan. 25, 2023. “She told me, ‘If you ever want to lose five pounds, this is a good option.’
Although she gave the drug a try, Handler admitted that she didn’t enjoy the way it made her feel.
“After returning from a vacation, I self-administered the injection,” she recounted. “A few days later, I went to lunch with a friend who mentioned feeling nauseous from taking Ozempic. I noticed that I was feeling the same way, but attributed it to jet lag from coming back from Spain.”
In the end, Handler decided to discontinue the use of the medication as it was not medically necessary for her. She distributed the remaining doses to her friends.
“I ended up injecting about four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I realized I didn’t need it and found it unnecessary,” she confessed. “It’s meant for individuals struggling with obesity. When friends came over to my house, I would schedule appointments for them like, ‘I can see you at 1, and you at 2.’
