The Exclusion of Matthew Perry from the 2024 Emmys In Memoriam Segment
Following his death, Perry’s co-star from Fools Rush In, Salma Hayek, expressed that it took her “a couple of days to process this profound sadness.”
“There is a special bond that forms when you share aspirations with someone, and together strive towards achieving them,” she shared in an Instagram post on Oct. 30. “I was deeply touched last year when Matthew expressed his love for ‘Fools Rush In’ on his Instagram stories, mentioning that he believed it was perhaps his best movie.”
“Over the years, he and I often found ourselves reminiscing about that significant period in our lives with a strong sense of nostalgia and appreciation,” she added. “My dear friend, you left us too soon, but I will always treasure your humor, your determination, and your kind heart. Goodbye, sweet Matthew, you will forever remain in our hearts.”
