Lizzo Asserts that Only God has the Power to Cancel Her Amid Controversy
Lizzo is currently prioritizing self-care and focusing on her own well-being.
After announcing a break from the spotlight to protect her peace, the “Good as Hell” singer recently discussed her approach to social media.
During a panel at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit on Oct. 14, Lizzo expressed her perspective, stating, “I’ve faced criticism on numerous occasions, but now I prioritize topics that are close to my heart and areas where I can make a positive impact. These topics now define my boundaries with the public.”
These reflections follow a challenging period for the 36-year-old artist, including a lawsuit from her former dancers last August, who accused her of fostering a toxic work environment and body-shaming them.
In response, Lizzo took to social media to defend herself, addressing the accusations and reaffirming her values.
In a post on Instagram, Lizzo wrote, “These recent days have been incredibly difficult and disheartening. My integrity and principles have been called into question. My integrity has been attacked.”
