Kate Middleton’s Reason for Sharing Her Cancer Diagnosis
Kate Middleton is talking openly about a challenging time for her family.
After taking a break from her official responsibilities for over two months to recover from planned abdominal surgery, the 42-year-old revealed that subsequent tests showed cancer.
When asked why she is sharing her health journey now, Kate, who has three children with Prince William – Prince George (10), Prince Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5) – a spokesperson from Kensington Palace stated, “The Princess wanted to disclose this information when she and The Prince felt it was appropriate for their family.”
Kate disclosed her diagnosis in a video posted on social media in March 2022.
“In January, I underwent a significant abdominal surgery in London, and it was initially believed to be non-cancerous,” she shared. “The surgery went well, but post-operation tests revealed the presence of cancer. Following my medical team’s advice, I am now undergoing a series of preventive chemotherapy treatments in the early stages.”
