JoJo Siwa Explains Why Leaving Dance Moms Was the Right Choice
Featured in just two seasons of the original series and coming from a background on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, JoJo with a Bow Bow quickly became a standout star. This led to a massive following on YouTube, an exclusive deal with Nickelodeon, a range of branded merchandise, and a coveted spot on Time‘s 100 most influential people list in 2020.
Reflecting on her time on Dance Moms, she once shared with Kelly Ripa, “One of the biggest lessons I learned was to either sink or swim. Not in a literal swimming pool, but to persevere and pursue your goals.”
Nowadays, rubbing shoulders with celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian, JoJo has taken on new challenges. In 2021, she made history by teaming up with Jenna Johnson to compete as the first same-sex couple on Dancing With the Stars in the U.S.
Looking ahead, JoJo has her sights set on a grand stage – the Super Bowl halftime show. “My ultimate dream is to perform at the Super Bowl,” she revealed to Raven-Symoné and wife Miranda Pearman-Maday. “Once I achieve that, I’ll retire and start a family,” she shared on a recent episode of The Best Podcast Ever.
