Heather Rae El Moussa Describes Selling Sunset Filming as “Extremely Toxic”
Heather Rae El Moussa is relieved that this chapter of her life has come to a close.
The Selling Sunset alum recently looked back on her six seasons on the Netflix series and suggested that not being asked back for season seven, which started filming shortly after the birth of her and Tarek El Moussa‘s son Tristan in January 2023, was actually a good thing.
“On the show, I tried to stay level-headed the entire time,” Heather shared on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast on April 3. “I tried to be friends with everyone and keep things calm. But the environment was toxic—surrounded by women all trying to be the star of the show, it became chaotic.”
While she enjoyed the initial seasons, Heather found that as the show gained popularity, things took a turn for the worse. “It became more and more difficult,” the 36-year-old explained. “More new girls were added, and it spiraled out of control. There were days when I would come home crying from the stress of filming.”
An additional challenge for Heather—who is also a stepmother to Tarek and his ex Christina Hall‘s kids Taylor (13) and Brayden (8)—was the demanding filming schedule.
