Fans speculate that Taylor Swift’s bonus track “The Albatross” is about Joe Alwyn
Taylor Swift has surprised fans with another bonus track, this time titled “The Albatross” during her performance in Sydney. Many believe this song to be about her ex, Joe Alwyn. The song has sparked speculation among fans due to its reference to an albatross, a bird defined by Merriam Webster as causing persistent concern or greatly hindering accomplishment.
Taylor announced the news by telling her audience, “Direct your attention to the main screen. This is an alternate cover for The Tortured Poets Department. And so this edition is called The Albatross because there is an exclusive bonus song on this vinyl called ‘The Albatross’ and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
Fans have also speculated that Taylor’s bonus track “The Bolter” is about Joe, due to its reference to a viral video of him running out of a building and into a car with the singer when they were dating. Additionally, the title “Tortured Poets” is seen as a clear reference to Joe’s infamous group chat, further fueling speculation.
