Just under four years into their marriage, the couple embarked on the journey of becoming parents. They welcomed their first daughter Hazel in February 2014, followed by her little sister Violet 28 months later. They settled into a townhouse in Brooklyn, far from Hollywood, in search of a sense of normalcy.
Despite their efforts to shield their children from their celebrity status, Hazel came home from school one day and asked her mother, Emily Blunt, if she was famous. This caught Blunt off guard, as she and her husband, John Krasinski, had avoided using the term with their kids. It was clear that someone at school had mentioned it to Hazel, but she didn’t share any more details. Blunt found the situation strange.
Blunt’s main concern is for her children to have a normal upbringing without feeling any more special or important than other kids. She hopes they can remain unaware of her career for as long as possible. “If they can remain oblivious for the longest time, I’d be thrilled. They don’t even want to see what I do,” she said.
