Dr. Terry Dubrow on Why He is Willing to Give Ozempic Another Shot
Ozempic is no joke for the comedian. Handler shared that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed her the medication without knowing its purpose.
“I didn’t even realize I was taking it,” she mentioned on the Jan. 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy. “She said, ‘If you ever want to lose five pounds, this is good for that.'”
However, after trying the medication, Handler admitted she didn’t enjoy the effects.
“I returned from a trip and injected myself with it,” she recounted. “A few days later, I went to lunch with a friend who mentioned feeling nauseous from Ozempic. I realized I was feeling nauseous too, but I blamed it on jet lag from my trip to Spain.”
In the end, Handler decided to discontinue using the medication because she didn’t medically require it. She ended up giving away the remaining doses to her friends.
“I’ve injected about four or five friends with Ozempic because I realized I didn’t need it and found it unnecessary,” she explained. “It’s meant for overweight individuals. When people came over to my house, I would offer it to them at different times.”
