Diddy Cleared of $100 Million Payment in Sexual Assault Case
Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking & Racketeering
After being arrested based on a sealed indictment, Combs had the indictment unsealed on Sept. 17.
According to court documents obtained by NBC News, the 54-year-old was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The indictment alleged that Combs had abused, threatened, and coerced women and others to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his actions for over a decade, with the behavior supposedly starting around 2008.
“To do this,” the documents stated, “Combs relied on his employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire he controlled, creating a criminal enterprise whose members engaged in various crimes such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
According to NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.
“He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might,” his attorney Marc Agnifilo told reporters outside the courthouse before the arraignment, “and the full confidence of his lawyers.”
