The Reason Behind Lisa Marie Presley Keeping Son Benjamin Keough’s Body at Home on Dry Ice for 2 Months Unveiled in Memoir
Trigger Warning: This article contains references to suicide
Riley Keough has shared details from her late mother’s memoir that shed light on Lisa Marie Presley’s life and secrets. One shocking revelation was that after the death of her son Benjamin Keough in 2020, Presley kept his body at home in dry ice for 2 months. In the memoir titled From Here to the Great Unknown, Elvis Presley’s wife confirmed that Ben Ben died by suicide at the age of 27, and she needed the two months to fully say goodbye to him.
To support her mother’s decision, Keough explained that Presley wanted the extra time to grieve and that there was no law in California requiring immediate burial. Presley had also followed a similar practice when Elvis Presley passed away.
In the memoir, Presley mentioned how keeping her dad’s body in the house after his death helped her cope, as she could still spend time with him. She kept Ben’s body at a cool temperature while deciding on the burial place, eventually choosing between Hawaii and Graceland.
Keough and Presley later got tattoos in memory of Ben, with the tattoo artist even coming into the room where Ben’s body was kept for precision. After getting the tattoos, they felt it was time to bury Ben, with Presley’s memoir now available to read.
