The Reason Behind Céline Dion’s Egg-Sized Facial Injury Post-Wedding Day
Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare progressive neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome, which was unfamiliar to most people.
In an Instagram video, she expressed, “I’ve always been transparent about my life. It wasn’t easy for me to share this before, but I’m ready now. Dealing with my health issues has been challenging, and I’m finally ready to talk about it.”
Dion described how muscle spasms had significantly impacted her daily life, affecting her ability to walk and ultimately forcing her to cancel her upcoming tour plans.
She mentioned, “I’m working hard with my sports medicine therapist every day to regain my strength and performance abilities, but it’s been a tough journey.”
According to the National Institutes of Health, stiff-person syndrome symptoms include stiff muscles in the torso, arms, and legs, heightened sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional stress, all of which can trigger muscle spasms.
