Brooke Shields Refuses to Age Gracefully: Why She’s Saying “F–k You”
Although the Commence founder is not yet embracing her gray hair, she is starting to come to terms with other signs of aging.
“Yeah, things ache,” she admitted. “And I wish I could get more sleep. I wish everything was firmer. I wish I didn’t have to use kinesiology tape to lift my knees to where they should be.”
Despite the changes in her body, Brooke is finding joy in one of the greatest benefits of growing older.
“I feel more youthful now than I did in my youth,” she shared. “My energy, my confidence, my lack of self-criticism. The negative thoughts that used to plague me… they don’t bother me anymore. They have faded away.”
If anything, the Blue Lagoon star is imparting lessons of self-love to her daughters, Rowan Francis Henchy (21) and Grier Hammond Henchy (18), whom she shares with her husband Chris Henchy.
“When my girls mention, ‘Mom, what do you think about getting lip fillers?'” Brooke revealed, “I react by saying, ‘I will disown you.'”
