Whoopi Goldberg Criticizes Zachary Levi’s Remarks on Hollywood’s Political Leanings: ‘We’re a Diverse Community’
Whoopi Goldberg responds to Zachary Levi’s comments on Hollywood being liberal. Levi has been supporting Donald Trump in the presidential election rallies, but Goldberg believes his statements lack authenticity and logic.
During Tuesday’s podcast of The View, a clip of Levi was played where he said, “Hollywood is a very, very liberal town,” and supporting the previous president “constitutes career suicide.”
Goldberg, in her response to Levi, argued that Hollywood has always welcomed a diverse group of people regardless of their political views. She mentioned that Hollywood has historically been right-leaning and schooled Levi on the industry’s history.
She pointed out that there are Republicans in Hollywood too, like Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight, who have supported the Republican party for years.
Goldberg also mentioned Chappell Roan, who faced backlash from left-wingers for her comments on government issues. Joy Behar, another panelist, discussed Roan’s position in the LGBTQ community and the challenges they face from anti-LGBTQ groups.
Levi, who supports Trump, spoke about his upbringing in a conservative Christian family and his skepticism towards the government and industry practices.
Zachary Levi has also faced criticism for his views on vaccinations and vaccine manufacturers.
Goldberg also discussed her close relationship with late actors Christopher Reeves and Robin Williams.
