Ozempic is no joke for the comedian. Handler shared that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the medication without knowing what it was.
“I didn’t even realize I was taking it,” she revealed on the Jan. 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy. “She told me, ‘If you ever want to lose five pounds, this will help.’
Despite giving it a try, Handler admitted she didn’t like the way it made her feel.
“After a vacation, I injected myself with it,” she recounted. “A few days later, I was having lunch with a friend who mentioned feeling nauseous because of Ozempic. I realized I was feeling the same way, but I attributed it to jet lag from my trip to Spain.”
In the end, Handler stopped using the medication since it wasn’t medically necessary for her. She gave away the remaining doses to friends.
“I ended up injecting four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I realized I didn’t need it and it was unnecessary,” she admitted. “It’s meant for overweight individuals. I had friends coming over, and I would offer them the doses.”
