When Irrfan Khan was not convinced by Radhika Madan’s drunk acting in Angrezi Medium, saying ‘I will handle it’
Irrfan Khan was one of the most talented actors that Hindi cinema will always be proud of. The late actor is remembered for his versatile acting skills and how he could convey emotions through his eyes.
Radhikka Madan, who worked with Irrfan Khan in the 2020 film Angrezi Medium, recently shared a fond memory of their time together.
Radhikka Madan remembers shooting a drunk scene with Irrfan Khan
In a new interview with Filmygyan, Radhikka Madan talked about performing a drunk scene with Irrfan Khan on the sets of Angrezi Medium.
Radhikka mentioned that director Homi Adajania wanted her to enhance the emotion of playing a drunk character. Initially, Irrfan was not convinced while Radhikka portrayed being drunk.
She shared, “My director really wanted me to amp it up, and we both prepared for it. Irrfan sir came on set and he said, ‘it’s a lie, I will catch it’.”
Radhikka recalls she later made Irrfan confused
Radhikka Madan reminisced about preparing for the scene to make her acting believable to Irrfan Khan. She mentioned reaching a level of “drunkenness” where Irrfan got confused and couldn’t tell if she was actually drunk or not.
“We reached a point where he was like ‘I am not sure’ and that’s when we started rolling,” she added.
When Radhikka Madan ‘regretted’ not talking enough to Irrfan on the sets
In a recent interview, Radhikka Madan expressed regret for not spending more time with Irrfan Khan during the filming of Angrezi Medium.
She explained that she was focused on her character and saw Irrfan as a father figure. “I thought I would have plenty of time to discuss movies, acting, and craft with him after the film, but he was going through a lot,” she said.
Irrfan Khan, who battled neuroendocrine tumour, passed away on April 29, 2020.
Meanwhile, Radhikka Madan was recently seen in the film Sarfira alongside Akshay Kumar, where she portrayed his on-screen wife.
