Bachelorette Jenn Tran and Devin Strader’s Statements on Their Split
When Devin looked back on his appearance on the AFR stage on Sept. 4, he admitted he was unaware of what had been discussed prior to his arrival and believed he and Jenn were in a good place. To his surprise, he discovered that wasn’t the case.
“I was truly shocked and speechless at how our relationship was portrayed on TV,” he shared. “It was completely absurd. It was incredibly disheartening to hear Jenn’s description because it was not accurate, and we both knew it. However, I didn’t want to argue with her.”
On the other hand, Jenn questioned what Devin was anticipating.
“What did he think would happen?” she wondered during an interview on Nick Viall‘s podcast. “Did he expect me to just shake his hand and bid him farewell, saying ‘goodbye, have a nice day’?”
Jenn also mentioned that she wasn’t caught off guard by ABC airing her proposal following her emotional discussion about the breakup.
“They were very mindful of my emotions on that day and how anxious I was,” she explained on Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe. “They guided me through every aspect of that day to help me feel at ease. However, I didn’t foresee how emotional I would become.”
In the end, Jenn expressed relief that Devin had seen the footage.
“I wanted him to witness that moment and understand how deeply he had wounded me,” she stated. “Because I can’t comprehend how someone can propose one day and then the next day not truly mean those words.”
