House Of The Dragon Actor Ewan Mitchell Admits He Never Watched Game Of Thrones, But Wants To Bring Something Fresh
Ewan Mitchell, who plays Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragons, admitted in an interview with Comicbook that he has never watched Game of Thrones. When asked if he would like his character to interact with any characters from GoT.
The second season of the spinoff is set to premiere soon, with the cast members promoting the show extensively. Meanwhile, the director has hinted at seasons 3 and 4 being in the pipeline.
What did Ewan Mitchell say about not watching Game of Thrones?
In his conversation with the entertainment portal, Mitchell explained that he chose not to watch Game of Thrones to bring a fresh perspective to his role. He admitted, “I haven’t seen the original Game of Thrones. I have a confession to make. I’ve never seen it and I didn’t want to watch it go into this role.”
Mitchell added, “I didn’t want it to influence my decisions in any way. I wanted to bring something new. Aemond is unique, you know.”
Discussing season 2, Mitchell shared with Vogue what viewers can expect from his character in the upcoming episodes, describing his villainous role as turning the show into a horror film.

What did the creator of House of the Dragons say about the upcoming seasons?
In December, House of the Dragons creator George R.R. Martin revealed that the writing team is already working on seasons 3 and 4 of the spinoff. Martin wrote in his blog, “I spent two days locked in a room with Ryan Condal and his writing staff talking about the third and fourth seasons of House of the Dragon.”
He added, “They were lively, fun discussions, and we got some good work done… though two days was not nearly enough. There is so much ground to cover that I am not sure twenty days would have been enough.”
House of the Dragons season 2 will premiere on June 16.
