Vernon Davis Details Vontae Davis’ Final Moments in the NFL
Vernon Davis is sharing his thoughts on his brother’s tragic passing.
The former NFL tight end revealed that his late brother, fellow football player Vontae Davis, seemed to have fallen or collapsed after coming out of the sauna just before he was discovered dead at the age of 35 in his Florida home.
“This news really took me by surprise,” Vernon told The Daily Mail about the unexpected death of the Dolphins cornerback, in an interview published on April 3. “I’m still trying to process it.”
Despite the circumstances, the 40-year-old is certain that drugs were not a factor in Vontae’s death. During his recent visit to Vontae, he noticed that his brother was taking great care of himself.
“When I visited his house two weeks ago, he had a massage therapist, a stretch therapist, a chiropractor, you name it,” Vernon recalled.
Vernon is not the only one shedding light on Vontae’s well-being. Megan Harpe, who married the late NFL player in 2015, told The Daily Mail that Vontae had been struggling with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain injury common in football that is often caused by repeated head trauma. She suggested that this may have impacted his health leading up to his passing.
