Vijay Sethupathi’s Hilarious Advice for Aspiring Actors: “Don’t Get Influenced”
Vijay Sethupathi was spotted today in Hyderabad for the promotions of his upcoming movie Maharaja (June 10). During his interaction with the media, the Vikram Vedha star shared some advice for aspiring actors.

When asked for advice for aspiring actors, Vijay humorously responded, “Don’t listen to advice from people like me. Just don’t.”
Continuing on a serious note, he said, “Everyone is unique, just like their fingerprints and eye prints. Similarly, your approach should also be unique. You can’t copy someone else, but you can get inspired by their work in films. Try to understand and avoid getting influenced by influencers.”
He added, “Have your own opinions, even if they’re wrong. Embrace your mistakes. If you want to be an actor, don’t be a fan of anyone. If you are a fan, you won’t be able to critically analyze their performances in films. You’ll just praise them. Don’t do that.”
Furthermore, Vijay mentioned that he continues to learn something new with each project, despite having done many films. He encouraged aspiring actors to watch great movies and learn from filmmakers.
What’s next for Vijay Sethupathi?
Following Maharaja, Vijay will be starring in the highly anticipated Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetrimaaran. This film is a sequel to the 2023 movie Viduthalai.
Viduthalai Part 2 follows the story of Kumaresan, a constable tasked with arresting Perumal, a teacher and leader of a separatist group.
The cast of Viduthalai Part 2 includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manju Warrier, Bhavani Sre, Soori, and others in key roles.
Viduthalai: Part 1 was not only well-received in India, but it also received acclaim at the Rotterdam Film Festival 2024.
