Victoria Beckham Opens Up About Seeing Cover Story on Her Post-Baby Body
Victoria Beckham is reflecting on a time when she faced overwhelming media attention.
The former member of the Spice Girls is no stranger to living in the public eye and dealing with criticism about her appearance. While she has grown accustomed to the scrutiny, it hasn’t always been easy for her.
“I’ve faced a lot of criticism and I believe it has deprived me of certain experiences,” Victoria shared with Grazia in an interview published on May 28. “I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining, but there have been times when I didn’t feel confident enough to enjoy my time on the beach watching my children play.”
Even now, at 50 years old, Victoria—who has children Brooklyn (25), Romeo (21), Cruz (19), and Harper (12) with husband David Beckham—still recalls a particular incident after the birth of her son Brooklyn.
“My first public appearance after giving birth was on the front page of a newspaper, with arrows pointing out where I needed to lose weight,” she recalled. “Such incidents can have a significant impact on how you feel and carry yourself in public. Now, if paparazzi want to take pictures and make comments, it doesn’t affect me the way it used to.”
