Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video sees disappointing ticket sales of 2500 in top chains just one day before release
Rajkummar Rao is making his return to the big screens after the blockbuster success of Stree 2. He is now getting ready for the release of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which stars Triptii Dimri as the lead actress. However, the movie did not have a strong advance ticket sales rush.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Sells 2500 Tickets In Top Chains, Gearing Up For A Slow Start
The advance booking for the comedy movie directed by Raaj Shandilyaa opened earlier today. However, there was no significant rush in the advance sales. With just one day left before the release, the movie has only sold around 2500 tickets in the top three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. PVR leads with 1500 tickets sold, while Cinepolis sold around 1000 tickets.
The comedy-drama will need a sudden increase in advance ticket sales tomorrow in order to have a decent opening.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Eyeing For An Opening Of Rs 5 Crore
The success of the Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri movie will heavily rely on spot bookings and the initial public response. Compared to its rival release Jigra starring Alia Bhatt, the comedy movie is smaller, but both are aiming for an average opening at the box office. It is estimated that Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will open with Rs 4 crore to Rs 5 crore.
The movie is set to release on Dussehra. The festive atmosphere and holiday may help attract more viewers, but positive word-of-mouth will be crucial for its long-term success.
Although the trailer of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video received a mix of positive and negative reactions, the music album failed to create much excitement among the audience. Despite featuring multiple songs, none of them seemed to resonate with the viewers. The slow advance sales were expected due to the absence of a big star. It will be interesting to see if this movie can replicate the success of Stree 2 for Rajkummar Rao.
