Triptii Dimri, the actress in the viral video Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, opens up about her emotional journey during Laila Majnu, confessing to feeling overwhelmed and clueless about acting when she first arrived in Mumbai.
Triptii Dimri had a presence in various films before gaining fame with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal last year. She kicked off 2024 by appearing alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk in Bad Newz, which turned out to be one of the top-grossing Hindi films of the year. Despite her strong performances on screen, it is hard to believe that there was a time when she struggled with the basics of acting. During the filming of Laila Majnu, she would go home and cry because she couldn’t understand what her director or co-star was explaining.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is Triptii Dimri’s upcoming comedy with Rajkummar Rao. While promoting the film, she shared how she lacked knowledge of acting when she moved from her hometown in Garhwal, Uttarakhand to Mumbai. Her main goal was to do something different. Despite not being strong academically, she expressed the desire to try modeling to her parents. Initially hesitant, her parents eventually supported her decision, despite her being shy and introverted and never having left Delhi before.
Even though her parents weren’t thrilled with her decision to enter the entertainment industry, she decided to give it a try. Years later, she landed a role in the 2017 film Poster Boys. However, working alongside Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade was challenging for her as she was inexperienced in acting. This led to her feeling like she didn’t perform well. The Bulbbul star recalled how she managed to secure the role in Laila Majnu after initially being rejected.
After getting the role, Triptii attended workshops with director Sajid Ali and co-star Avinash Tiwary. Despite discussions on acting techniques, character backgrounds, and role development, she often found herself feeling lost and not understanding anything. This led her to question if she was on the right path, considering quitting at times.
