Bad Newz director says Triptii Dimri is on her way to becoming the next Vicky Kaushal, confirms actress was cast in rom-com before Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal
Actress Triptii Dimri is currently enjoying the success of her recent film Bad Newz, making her the talk of the town. With a lineup of over five projects, she is proving to be a rising talent in Bollywood. Director Anand Tiwari recently disclosed that Dimri’s role in the film, alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, was finalized before she was even considered for the film Animal with Ranbir Kapoor.
Bad Newz director reveals Karan Johar recommended Triptii Dimri for rom-com
According to Indian Express, Director Anand Tiwari shared that Karan Johar suggested Triptii for Bad Newz after being impressed by her performances in Bulbbul and Qala. Tiwari mentioned, “Karan Johar recommended Triptii while she was still in talks for Animal and not yet a part of the film.”
Tiwari emphasized that they selected Triptii based on her talent showcased in her previous works, and they were highly impressed by her. He mentioned that upon seeing her on set, he identified her as a talent with long-lasting potential, describing her as “a talent that will last… “
Tiwari praised Triptii Dimri, saying she is the Vicky Kaushal in the making, highlighting her strong background and hinting at a powerful performance in the film.
As per Pinkvilla’s review, Bad Newz is a light-hearted and entertaining film, though it could have explored deeper themes. While it offers some laughs and gags, it falls short of its full potential.
Triptii Dimri on the work front
Meanwhile, Dimri’s latest appearance was in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, where she shared the screen with Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor.
For her upcoming projects, Dimri is set to star in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Vidya Balan. She also has a role in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video alongside Rajkummar Rao and Dharma Productions’ Dhadak 2 with Siddhant Chaturvedi. Fans can also expect to see her in Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor.
