Triptii Dimri opens up about struggles with ‘performance pressure’ during shooting of Animal scene with Ranbir Kapoor: ‘I struggled with my lines repeatedly’
Triptii Dimri, known for her debut in Bollywood with Poster Boys in 2017, rose to fame after her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal in 2023 alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The actress recently confessed to feeling intense pressure while shooting a scene with Ranbir for the film. She admitted to struggling with her lines during the sequence.
In a podcast interview on The Ranveer Show, Triptii Dimri shared the challenges she faced while performing a difficult scene in Animal. She spoke about her admiration for Ranbir Kapoor throughout her life.
“I felt intense pressure that day. I kept making mistakes with my lines repeatedly. An actor I have always admired was right in front of me. I had to perform the scene with him,” Triptii mentioned.
The actress recalled the difficulty she faced in crying during the scene in Animal. She mentioned feeling off at that time and needing support, which Ranbir provided during filming.
Describing her experience working with Ranbir Kapoor, Triptii Dimri praised his calm and secure personality. She highlighted his kindness and how his support made a significant difference.
In Animal, Ranbir Kapoor portrayed Ranvijay Singh, while Triptii played Zoya. Rashmika Mandanna portrayed his on-screen wife, Geetanjali. The film also featured Anil Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, among others, with Bobby Deol playing the antagonist.
Animal received a mixed response from audiences upon its release, with some criticizing its promotion of toxic masculinity and misogyny.
Recently, Triptii Dimri appeared in Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starring Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. The comedy film hit theaters on October 11, 2024. Triptii has also worked in movies like Laila Majnu, Qala, and Bulbbul.
