The couple, who got married in 1988 after meeting on the set of Tom’s sitcom Bosom Buddies, have one of the most admired relationships in Hollywood. The Oscar winner believes the key to their lasting love is simply “finding each other,” as he shared exclusively with Francesca Amiker from E! News.
Tom and Rita, parents to Chet, 33, and Truman, 28, were all smiles on the red carpet as honorary chairs of “An Unforgettable Evening” benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. This cause is especially important to Rita, who bravely underwent a double mastectomy for breast cancer in 2015.
“It takes a village,” Rita expressed to E! when talking about supporting cancer research. “And the community in our town of Los Angeles, California has been there for 25 years to support this cause. We are not alone in this.”
