Tom Daley Reigns Supreme at the Olympics Opening Ceremony
Tom Daley is soaring high, Jack, he’s soaring!
The British Olympic diver made a grand entrance at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony on July 26 as Team Great Britain sailed down the Seine on a boat.
Tom and British rower Helen Glover, who carried their country’s flag, paid tribute to the boat entry by striking a pose at the boat’s edge reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet‘s famous romantic scene from the movie Titanic.
In the memorable moment from the 1997 film, Leonardo’s character Jack takes Kate’s character Rose to the front of the boat, wraps his arms around her waist, and has her close her eyes while extending her arms out to each side—a scene recreated by Tom and Helen.
