Tish Cyrus Opens Up About “Psychological Breakdown” During Split from Billy Ray
She stated, “I was unable to eat, I was unable to sleep, I could not stop crying. I don’t have my mom, and now I don’t have my husband who has been with me for 30 years. I’m scared.”
Despite the difficulties of her divorce and her mother’s passing, Tish has once again found love and happiness with Dominic Purcell. She and the actor from Prison Break got married in a Malibu ceremony in August 2023, with their daughter Miley Cyrus, 30, in attendance (the former couple also have children Brandi, 36, Trace, 34, Braison, 29, and Noah, 23).
It’s worth noting that the “Flowers” singer was not present at her father’s wedding to singer Firerose in October 2023.
When reflecting on her years with Billy Ray, Tish tries not to focus on what could have been if she had made different choices.
“I really didn’t want Noah to still be young,” she explained when asked if she wishes she had left her marriage earlier, “but looking back on it, it would have been much better for her if I had left.”
