34-Year-Old TikTok Star “Dancing Engineer” Dies from Dengue Fever
The TikTok community has lost a fun-loving star.
Jainer Moisés Pinedo Vargas, also known as TikToker Ingeniero Bailarín, or Dancing Engineer, passed away on Aug. 18 due to complications from dengue fever—a mosquito-borne viral disease—as confirmed by health officials to Peruvian publication Peru 21 on Aug. 19. He was 34.
“This patient was initially diagnosed with dengue; however, during his treatment at the Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo hospital, he was also found to have pleural effusion and respiratory failure. Upon admission to the ICU, it was discovered that he was suffering from Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” stated Deputy Minister of Public Health of the Ministry of Health Ricardo Peña Sánchez in an interview with Peru 21. “The patient had an underlying neoplastic condition which likely contributed to his unfortunate outcome.”
The 34-year-old passed away while working in the Condorcanqui province of Peru, where he contracted the illness. Due to the fact that dengue is more common in the summer months in South America, investigations are still ongoing into his untimely death.
