TikToker under fire for charging expenses for child’s playdate
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding a controversial move made by one mom.
TikToker Shay Nanigans stirred up quite a commotion when she claimed to have charged another mother $15 to cover the expenses of their daughters’ playdate—but it was all in good fun.
“So, recently my daughter had a friend over,” Shay explained in a video posted on her TikTok account on June 12, “and I asked her mom for money, and this is how it went.”
Shay then shared screenshots of their text exchange, where she requested $15 through Venmo, citing the high costs of hosting playdates as the reason.
“By splitting the expenses, we can have more playdates without putting a financial burden on just one party,” Shay explained to the other mom. “Doesn’t that make sense?”
Although the other mother only asked for a list of the supplies needed, Shay revealed that she eventually received the requested money.
