Looking Back: Yash’s Response to Being Compared to Prabhas – “I will be the first…”
Yash’s collaboration with Prashanth Neel for the KGF franchise has truly changed the Kannada film industry. Both KGF 1 and 2 were commercial hits, earning praise from audiences. Yash, now a top pan-Indian celebrity, once discussed his comparisons with Prabhas.
In a 2022 interview with Bollywood Hungama, Yash addressed being labeled as the next Prabhas for Bollywood. He stated, “I will be the first Yash; Prabhas is also a fantastic actor and deserves respect.”
“I see it as a compliment considering all that Prabhas has accomplished,” he added. Yash emphasized the importance of being authentic and avoiding comparisons.
In another interview, the Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari actor praised SS Rajamouli and the film Baahubali, acknowledging its impact on South films.
Yash is currently working on his upcoming film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, set to release on April 10, 2025. The movie delves into the world of the drug mafia in the 1950s, promising a compelling narrative featuring Yash in a powerful role.
While there are reports that Toxic may not stick to its announced release date, no official confirmation has been provided.
Meanwhile, Prabhas has a lineup of exciting projects, including The Raja Saab, Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and the second installment of Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
