Flashback: Priyanka Chopra’s Powerful Response to Someone Who Questioned Her Punjabi Identity
Priyanka Chopra, who has a huge fan following worldwide, began her Bollywood journey with the 2003 film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy alongside Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. Initially living in Bareilly and then Mumbai, PeeCee later moved to Los Angeles with her husband, American singer-songwriter Nick Jonas. During an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Priyanka Chopra impressively answered a question about her identity. In the interview, PeeCee described herself as Punjabi, but a man from the audience disagreed, stating that she couldn’t be Punjabi because she didn’t live in Punjab.
The man argued that a person living in Punjab is called Punjabi, and someone from Bareilly would be considered a native of that town. “So, if my name is Chopra and I live in Mumbai, does that make me Miss Mumbaiyan?” PeeCee retorted.
Despite the man trying to make his point, the Don actress responded, “I think his problem in life is that he has a very small mind.”
