Throwback: Preity Zinta Reminisces About Akshay Kumar’s Gentlemanly Gesture During Sangharsh Shoot; ‘When I Was a Newcomer…’
Starting her acting career in 1998 with a supporting role in Dil Se alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, Preity Zinta quickly rose to fame. She then starred opposite Bobby Deol in Soldier the same year. Throughout her career, she has worked with all three Khans of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. Preity also collaborated with Akshay Kumar in Sangharsh in the 90s, where she praised him for being a gentleman during her early days as a newcomer in the industry.
In a recent episode of her show on YouTube, Up Close & Personal with PZ, Preity Zinta shared her experience of working with Akshay Kumar. She expressed her admiration and respect for him as he always treated her with decency, never making her feel like a newcomer or acting like a superstar on set. Preity recalled how Akshay made her feel comfortable during the shooting of a song sequence in Sangharsh.
Reflecting on the incident, Preity mentioned how Akshay helped her during a challenging shot and emphasized that heroes in films are not just heroes for the audience, but also for their co-stars. Years later, Preity worked with Akshay again in Shirish Kunder’s Jaan-E-Mann in 2006, where they were joined by Salman Khan in the lead role.
