Flashback: Owen Wilson opens up about being reprimanded by Marvel Studios during Loki filming for this surprising reason
In recent years, Marvel Studios has brought together a number of big names from the Hollywood film industry. Including Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett, we even saw Owen Wilson in the MCU in Loki Season 1. However, as the series entered Season 2, the actor became more cautious about not revealing information.
Owen Wilson portrayed Mobius M. Mobius in Loki, but in a conversation with ComicBook.com in 2022, the Night at the Museum actor chose not to divulge much about the upcoming season of Loki.
Initially, the Marley & Me actor mentioned that he was filming the second season of the Disney+ series, but his comments were limited to, “Yeah, we’re doing that. Yeah, Tom [Hiddleston] is great. We’re doing ‘Loki,’ and we’re filming that now in London.”
When pressed for more details, Wilson emphasized that audiences would have to wait and see what happens in the upcoming season. However, the Shanghai Noon actor admitted feeling self-conscious when discussing the series Loki as Marvel Studios is quite “uptight.”
During the interview, Owen Wilson was asked if he had been reprimanded by Marvel at any point, to which he confessed, “Yeah, multiple times.”
He was referring to a text he received from an anonymous Marvel employee back in 2021, as Owen Wilson told Esquire magazine that after he revealed that his mustache was for his Loki character Mobius, “I got an ominous text saying ‘Strike 1’. I don’t know who that was, we think it might have been Kevin Feige using a burner phone but that wasn’t confirmed,” he added.
Ultimately, Owen Wilson is not the only actor known for accidentally revealing information about their roles or the series. Mark Ruffalo once inadvertently live-streamed a particular scene from Thor: Ragnarok on Instagram.
Reports suggest that the actor forgot to turn off his camera during the Hollywood premiere of the film. In addition, the Begin Again actor also spoiled Avengers: Infinity War on Good Morning America, disclosing that everyone dies.
Like Mark Ruffalo, even Tom Holland is notorious for giving away plot points of his Marvel movies. Owen Wilson appeared in Loki Seasons 1 and 2 alongside Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and other well-known actors.
