Security was beefed up for THIS Cast Member from The Last of Us during Season Two filming; Read on for more DETAILS
After receiving strong viewership in the first season, The Last Of Us was renewed for season 2 with new cast additions. Isabela Merced, who plays Dina, shared some insights on her co-star Kaitlyn Dever, who portrays Abby.
During a recent interview on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Merced revealed that Dever required additional security during filming because her character is perceived as the most disliked character on the show, causing fans to blur the lines between fiction and reality.
“There are people who genuinely hate Abby, who is not a real person. Just a reminder, not a real person,” Merced stated. “And so Kaitlyn had to have extra security during the filming.”
Aside from Merced and Dever, The Last Of Us season 2 will feature Young Mazino as Jesse. Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie will embark on a new journey through a post-apocalyptic version of the U.S. The show is based on the popular Naughty Dog video game franchise of the same name.
The first season received positive reviews from both critics and viewers, thanks to the creative talents of co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman in seamlessly transitioning the gaming world into live action.
While details about the upcoming season remain under wraps, if it follows the game sequel, fans can expect a major plot twist. Warning: Potential season two spoilers ahead! In the game, Abby (Dever) kills Joel (Pascal), leading to Ellie’s (Ramsey) quest for revenge. However, for fans who favor Joel, there may be hope!
The show creators have hinted that they may not adapt every aspect of the game, providing some optimism. However, they have confirmed that vengeance will be a significant theme in the new season. The content of the upcoming season may prompt disagreements among fans who desire a faithful adaptation of the game versus those who prefer a deviation from the main plot.
The Last Of Us season 2 is set to premiere in 2025.
