“Bunnie Xo Reflects on the First Time She Met Hubby Jelly Roll: A Big Southern Boy”
Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll are known as one of the most genuine and endearing couples in the industry. Recently, Bunnie Xo shared a heartwarming story about her first encounter with country music singer Jelly Roll.
On the latest episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast on July 9, the media personality reminisced about the first time she saw the singer, long before he achieved the fame he enjoys today.
“We met at Las Vegas Country Saloon in 2015,” Bunnie recalled. “He was opening for the Moonshine Bandits, and I was like, ‘What is this? What is this man? This big southern boy.'”
She went on to explain that they were able to bond at the concert because there weren’t many people in attendance, and the venue had a more casual atmosphere where everyone was mingling around, she added.

The media personality revealed that everyone, including the band and crew, was backstage at the show relaxing and socializing, but Roll was nowhere to be found, and no one even knew who he was, Bunnie added.
Back then, he was opening for Moonshine Bandits. While the singer may have had a small following or been known in Nashville, Tennessee, his hometown, people on the West Coast were unaware of him.
Bunnie Xo explained that she was there to see Moonshine Bandits perform, and that’s how she met her husband J (a nickname she uses for Jelly Roll). The couple, who recently discussed their desire to have a child together, tied the knot in 2016, and Bunnie is now stepmom to Jelly’s two children from a previous relationship: 15-year-old daughter Bailee and 7-year-old son Noah.
They have been transparent about their past struggles, including Roll’s criminal record, Bunnie Xo’s fertility issues, and more.

Bunnie Xo also discussed the couple’s temporary separation in 2018. Jelly Roll spoke to PEOPLE in March 2024, acknowledging that the breakup helped them grow as individuals. “I’m really glad she shared that because I think it’s important for our fans to know that our relationship took a lot of effort,” he reflected at the time.
He admitted that they had to work hard together to get to where they are today. “It was worth every moment. It was worth every disagreement. It was worth every separation. All paths led back to the love that guided us,” he joyfully stated.
Bunnie Xo has embraced Roll’s children as her own. In 2017, the couple gained full custody of Bailee due to her mother’s substance abuse.
