New Del Ray Salon Named after Taylor Swift Song
There is a new hair salon in Del Ray called Enchant Hair Co., which opened its doors at 2202 Mount Vernon Avenue in January. The salon is named after Taylor Swift’s song Enchanted.
Owner Monica Frias expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift, saying, “I love Taylor Swift. She’s like a reflection of my personality.”
Enchant Hair Co. is located in the former space of Kiskadee, a boutique that closed in 2022. Frias, a Mount Vernon High School graduate, signed the lease in November and spent two months renovating the salon before its opening.
After completing her cosmetology education at Mount Vernon High School, Frias obtained her license and started her career in hair salons. It took her eight years to open her own salon, which has had a soft launch so far. Frias is currently working on a new website for the salon and plans to have a grand opening and ribbon cutting in March.
Despite her young age, Frias considers herself business-savvy. She mentioned, “I’m still really young, but I’m very good business-wise. Right now, since I don’t have as many stylists as I eventually want to have, I have to do a lot of physical work myself.” She also highlighted her efforts in video editing, marketing, and social media management.
Frias is quite active on social media platforms, with over 5,500 followers on Instagram and more than 55,000 followers on TikTok.
