Despite this, Winfrey emphasized that her main goal was to stay healthy.
“This whole idea of accepting yourself as you are—you should, absolutely,” she shared with the Times in 2017. But at the time she was approached by WW, she felt desperate and needed a solution that would be sustainable and keep her mindful.
According to Winfrey, she couldn’t accept herself if she was over 200 pounds because it put too much strain on her heart, increased her risk of high blood pressure, and put her at risk for diabetes due to her family history.
