Thalapathy Vijay sets new record with highest Saturday box office collection in Tamil Nadu for The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) Day 3
The movie The Greatest of All Time starring Thalapathy Vijay had a fantastic Saturday in Tamil Nadu, earning an estimated Rs 27.50 crore. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film set a new all-time record for the biggest Saturday collection, surpassing the previous best, LEO, which also starred Thalapathy Vijay. The total three-day collection in Tamil Nadu is estimated at Rs 79.25 crore, and the film is expected to reach a total of Rs 107 to 110 crore by the end of the extended weekend.
The movie is performing exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu, but the business in Kerala and Telugu states is not as strong. Surprisingly, the North Belt is showing interest in The GOAT, and the film may achieve a respectable total in the long run. Despite not being released in national chains due to a short OTT window, the film has managed to earn a solid total of Rs 122.50 crore in India in three days, with an expected weekend collection in the North of Rs 160 crore.
The film is also doing well in Karnataka, although not at the level of LEO. The overseas business is booming, with estimates suggesting a 4-day opening weekend revenue of around USD 14 million, bringing the worldwide total to over Rs 275 crore. The United States is showing strong performance, with the film competing with LEO and aiming for an all-time record.
The positive news for The GOAT is that the film is performing exceptionally well in its home market of Tamil Nadu, and it is likely to cross the Rs 200 crore mark by the end of its run, solidifying its status as another blockbuster for Thalapathy Vijay. The final verdict on the film’s performance can be confirmed after observing the Monday box office collections.
